I don’t think you need to go to a driving school to drive fast in a straight line. Just practice shifting and understand your power curve and gearing if manual or just put your foot down if auto.
If you are doing suspension mods rather than power mods, then I agree most people could benefit from some instruction in order to get the most out of the mods.
