Hell no. This car scares me sometimes and I've been driving for 10+ years. On the other hand, when I'm not pushing it hard I feel much safer in it than other cars I've driven. The handling and breaking is excellent, and the extra power helps get out of dangerous situations quickly.
It's a double edged sword, and I wouldn't trust a young new driver with it.
Also, they should do something to earn it. Maybe my perspective is skewed... my first car was a 10 year old Ford Taurus station wagon haha.
College graduation, maybe, if they demonstrated responsible driving (no significant accidents, tickets, etc)
