My first car was an E36 ///M3 Coupe when it was the current body style. I didn't do anything too
stupid in it. If your kid is a bad driver, then they can do something stupid and dangerous in any car they get.
No doubt, the E92s are much more car than the E36, so it's hard to say... E92 with 415 hp vs the 240 hp in the E36 is a big difference. The most important thing IMO is to understand oversteer and how RWD can get a little nutty if you aren't careful.
There are plenty of "kids" that race cars and motorcycles competitively (and are excellent at it). No reason to put a blanket "no" or "yes" across the board. Depends on the kid and their understanding of driving.
