each state is different. It appears you pay about $800 in registration fees for 18 months, do you have to pay these type of fees again later on every year or every few years? If so, it's basically a sales tax on your car. I paid almost $2000 in taxes on my car, but that's it, 1 time fee, then I just pay my $50 a year for tags.
