You saved me the trouble of posting photos since that's exactly what I found inside my actuators. I'm amazed BMW hasn't come forward and said whoops we goofed designing this part, sorry guys, we will replace these our bad. Oh wait they didn't do that for the rod bearings so yeah never mind.
