Just finished this up as well. With the info in this thread it was pretty straight forward. I did the pan and both filters as described and it probably took 6 hours end to end (though I spread it across two days and did other things as well so it’s hard to tell exactly). I used the Knipex pliers referenced above and they made the snap ring extremely easy to deal with.
I got about 5.25 liters out and managed to put about 5.5 in, though given that I replaced the filters that doesn’t surprise me. Old fluid is dark brown as shown in some pics in the thread. Car has 105k miles almost all by me and I don’t track the car or drive hard very often.
If anyone is in Austin, I have about 250ml of extra fluid if you want it.
On a random note, I just ordered the Schwaben scan tool. Anyone know if there is any sort of utility or diagnostic in there to run whatever needs to be run to pump fluid through so you don’t need to have the car idling while adding the second round of fluid?
