AutoTalent, not dicking around but bit curious to understand how you come to ACL HX 0.0610 – 0.0838mm clearance variance.
ACL’ own spec says 0.039mm (shaft max of 51.991, housing min of 56.000, bearing wall max at 1.985. ie 56.000-51.991-2x1.985=.039mm).
You seem to be using a slightly different shaft spec which would end up on 56.000 - 51.9887 – 2x1.985 = 0.0413, no?

While we’re at it I’m curious about BE’s spec here as well that from what I understand says clearance variance 0.0456 – 0.0711mm.
Using the shaft dimensions on your page the way I calculate would give:
Max clearance: 56.013 – 51.9786 – 2x1.9812 = 0.0721mm
Min clearance: 56.000 – 51.9887 – 2x1.9939 = 0.0234mm

Edit: And assuming I get the numbers right that would mean if there is something called Nominal clearance, ACL would end up on 0.084-0.039/2 = 0.0225 => 0.084-0.0225 = 0.0615mm clearance. I.e. FWIW right on target using Clevite's rule of thumb.

While BE's Nominal would end up on 0.0721-0.0234/2=0.02435 => 0.0721-0.02435= 0.04775mm clearance.

Please bare with me if I completely missunderstand something here, but my basic wondering is how the variance can be that “tight” with shaft and housing tolerance combined doesn’t seem to be.

Thanks
Nik
