I traded my '11 E90 ZCP in on a B8 SQ5 end of 2013 because I wanted to have a vehicle that was better at going into the mountains vs a trackable DD. Sadly though I had a bad injury in 2014 and all my expectations went out the window. Started to regret giving up the M3 but didn't miss the payments. Tried out an M235i next and it was phenomenal to drive but didn't have the excitement or handling of a real M.
Now I'm in my E92 and the only way I would go back to sport SUV is if I was always using it for true SUV duties: skiing, biking, light off road, suburban status, etc and in that case maybe the X3M would have something to offer. My wife drives a B9 SQ5 and it is very capable but it can't compete with our M3s for driving enjoyment.
