Similar experience here. Once FI was certain for the F8x and the '12's and '13's would be identical apart from a slight base price increase, I ordered a '12 and avoided the rush/fight/bidding war over the '13 allocations.
As mine is a keeper, there's no hurry at all. At some point, if the car buying bug bites me, I'll be looking at three pedal candidates; hopefully there will be some NA options, but if not maybe a look backward will be where I find one that satisfies the driving soul. If buying in the short term, that new flat plane Stang would get a look, the Alfa 4C if AR puts a third pedal in the model, and the Cayman GTS looks interesting too.
