It was not the best design and IATs were pretty high at low speeds. I didn't like how it made the engine bog coming off the line or in traffic.

You had an early model of the AFE intake. I was involved with the fix for this problem which included a small baffle right after the front intake. The air flow was so great across the MAM that it caused the car to stall. This baffle let the air go around the MAM and it solved the stall problem.
AFE should have sent you out a new lid that would have solved this problem.
I had no driveability issues with my car at all once the stalling issue was solved and it was on my car for almost 4 years, in fact the original owner still has it on the car with no issues and that was over 6 yrs. ago.
