2011 Ford Mustang GT / Roush is gonna destroy the M3!!!!
Lemme be amongst the first few to say that when the 2011 Ford Mustang 427R's start hitting the marketplace, that I will seriously consider trading in my 2009 M3 coupe. This DCT-lag issue has really ticked me off. This is my first (and last) BMW.
BMW screwed this up because I don't hear ISF and C63 owners complaining about transmission lag.
A stock 2011 Ford Mustang GT is rated to produce 412hp. However due to recent reports of Edmunds and Motor Trend, the true hp will be somewhere between 430 - 450hp, STOCK!!!!
So when Roush releases their 427R which is still waaaay cheaper than an M3, it'll probably be close to 550hp with a 6 speed transmission.
Do the math. I'm only 33. I don't need the perceived class and status associated with owning an M3. So BMW NA can focus on old rich farts that falsely elevate their social status owning M3s. Whereas, the young and the rich, want an excellent product. The M3 may have been excellent at one time, but now its just run of the mill.
What do you think? Compared to the 2011 Ford Mustang GT / Roush, what is a plausible argument for owning an M3?
