Are they real strict with the cobb tune and catback or can you flash back to stock without the stealership knowing? I saw a guy ran 129mph traps with a custom tmap tune and midpipes. Must be 520rwhp or so to get that number.
Nissan gave the option to all '09 owners to re-program to the updated TCM which included a revised launch control, or stay with the original software. The revised LC allows you to launch the vehicle without disabling the traction control, thereby everything remains covered under warranty. The original LC requires you to disable the traction control to use.....I would say that most '09 owners took Nissan up on its offer and updated the TCM to the 2010 version. You still have a version of LC, its not nearly as violent and the results are very very similar (from what I have read). I havent driven the GTR enough to give mpg figures, but seem better than the M3 so far, but not by much.

I talked with the local dealer regarding exhaust mods and tunes. He said that cat backs would not be an issue, deleting the cats would null the emissions warranty, but high flow cats would not....he did not recommend changing the downpipes..

As far as tunes, any change to the factory tune is logged and can/will be pulled by nissan in the event of a catastrophic failure. The SA said that about 50% of the GT-R's that roll thru the dealership for service have a tune, and to date there have been no warranty problems or denied service. Doesnt really say anything, but it gives you some indication that Nissan is taking it on a case by case basis, and not a blanket 'denial' like some other manufacturers have.
