I know a lot of reasons that are giving is due to the exhuast expanding and contracting. However, I don't think the exhaust/headers would make a ticking sounds revving the engine up. I may when you are lowering the RPMs thereofre lowering the operating temperatures.

My foreman and FSE definitely did not believe it was normal and were trying to diagnose it.
