I find that on the move my readings sometimes differ, take longer but if I park it for a few minutes at I idle and read I tend to get better results and much quicker. I was getting the same reading both stationary (on level ground) and on the move, however it seems to have come right now and is reading max consistently.
What seems to have happened is that I added slightly too much or too little oil for it to climb up a rung or stay where it was at 75% full, and that's made it throw a hissy fit and read half full instead. No idea how or why, but that's the only thing I can think of.
The readings these things give do seem a bit haphazard at the best of times but I guess with age it gets worse.
Shall monitor it but I think it's ok for now.
