Long story short, the Epic tune is nothing short of Epic.. I was skeptical, thinking that the tune would just be the same as an Alpine tune just repackaged with a different cable and interface but that is totally wrong. Epic definitely feels a bit stronger but besides the bump in power throughout the range, the throttle mapping seems much better, the car starts and idles better, and it sounds better too. Honestly Alpine seems kind of a junk budget tune and after reading about some people's experiences with Alex, can't recommend the Alpine tune at all even if it's half the price of the Epic tune.
I also did Epic's DCT flash, which is a version of the GTS flash. The car previously had the GTS flash provided by Alex at Alpine and I can't say that I notice a big difference between the two versions of the DCT flash.

If you haven’t tried a newer version of our engine tune, I suggest giving it a try. You can always flash back to your previous tune if you prefer.Our newer calibrations are night-and-day different. The idle has been refined and sharpened, power delivery is smoother, and overall drivability has improved significantly.I don’t believe anyone has tuned as many E9x M3s as we have. If the claims about failures were true, you would see reports of failures every week on the forums. We still process over 200 tune requests per week, and we have customers with well over 100,000 miles on our tunes, with some vehicles approaching 200,000 miles overall.If you’d like to run a dyno comparison between tunes, I’ll pay for the dyno session. Just send me an email with your plan.
