Ok, do you want a sticker?? If you read my original response I was agreeing with the OP about warming the car up before driving off. When I said " Who really knows" it was a figure of speech. Notice there is no question mark so no question to be answered by your smart response of "the engineers..." Yeah, we know that. You can stick to whatever oil change interval you want I'll stick to my 3,000 again because I just feel better about it like warming the car up before driving off.
