My point is NOT a criticism of BE bearings or their clearances AT ALL. We use them in almost all of our builds. So please don't take it that way. I had recalled 3-5 psi drop, but the point is that larger clearances require more oil pressure to ensure a sufficient oil wedge. The question is whether the drop is material, and our experience in rebuilding S65 after S65 with spun rod and main bearings is that the we believe the drop is material enough, particularly in rebuilds that use even larger clearances than BE's typically achieve, to warrant addressing in some manner. We have NOT done enough empirical testing in a sufficiently rigorous manner to confirm our theory. What we can say is that our best recommendation is not to install bearings with wider clearances in an S65 without doing something to address oiling. It's really that simple. And BTW, we have no interest in Rogue or SRD. We just like the product.
