Most automakers are aware of that.
When I’m watching car auctions I will “build” a vehicle online. In this build I go for the gold. If you want the bigger engine it comes with additional pricey options that add onto the price. This is how sunroofs are sold. I’m still not sure how people financing their vehicles don’t understand that the more options they add the higher the monthly payments. Paying the cost and higher interest for 7 years makes that the most expensive first aid kit or panoramic roof in recent history.
