At this point I don't think you can get a reasonably priced mechanical insurance. Just find a good indy and keep up with the maintenance.

A good honest independent mechanic is worth their weight in gold. I have one and I am very lucky. You really have to look around and check Google reviews.
With that engine, I would make sure to change the oil every 5k miles with a good oil - either BMW oil or Liqui Moly with BMW or Mann filters.
