I can only speak from a US-perspective, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't at least $10k. Repair prices have gotten absolutely out of hand here.
Also, is being able to buy back a totaled car a typical think in the UK? Here you usually don't have that option if the insurance company totals it, unless I'm mistaken. The policy that I have with Hagerty for my Z4M specifically has that option, which I was kind of surprised by when I first started using them. I got the impression that it was a "classic car" specific thing.
