I appreciate the sincere response. I will admit I am a track rookie and this was the first car I tracked.
I guess my thought is that not all cars should be at risk for engine failure when going in a straight line at sub 100 mph speeds, especially when maintained properly? Was I just really unlucky, that 1 in 1,000 guy, or is this a more systemic problem than folks admit?
Like I’m thinking this could’ve happened on the highway at any point in time, and may not even be track related?
For context, in the three different track days I’ve participated in, I was the only person who experienced engine failure, running across every car type, from early 2000s STIs to last years GT3RS’
