Sounds like your opinion isn't worth much.
F8x retrofit has been a great upgrade for me, it's been 5 years since I've done it. At one point the prices for parts have gone up, but I completed the upgrade for less than you spent on Girodiscs. Prices seem to be coming down a bit now so you can probably get a decent deal.
I've done 30+ track days since then, with about 5 sets of Hawk DTC70 pads, 1 set of Ferodo 1.11, 1 set of Powerstop. I've also had 3 sets of OEM rotors. (FCP FTW), compare how much even 1 replacement set of rings and track pads would cost for a BBK. BBK is definitely a great upgrade and almost a requirement if you are in w2w racing. But the f8x upgrade is more cost effective when it comes to consumables and OEM rotors are easier to get and a set of pads don't cost $800-1000.
So yea let me know what your experience has been.
