I somehow missed that, but thanks, I get what you're saying. I'm not that savvy to open it. I might give cleaning a shot. The car hasn't been acting up since last time, so worst case a little repeat work to replace it.

Soaking the unit to loosen the buildup probably isn't possible, and even if it was, it might end up going where it shouldn't.
