is it safe to chase seat mount threads?
got into an armwrestling match with the brey krause seat mounts (don't get me started. the quality is great, but the instructions are garbage, and the number of permutations of setup are stupid)
anyway, i managed to slightly crossthread one of the seat bolts (the thread on the seat itself, the metal insert in the fiberglass). 90% of the thread is fine, but the beginning is messed up and i can't thread the bolt in anymore. normally i'd just use a tap to clean it up, but given that it's a seat bolt i paused for a second.
i'm assuming that since the load on it is lateral, and most of the thread is undamaged, i should be fine, but thought i'd ask if there's some rule of thumb that says i need to buy a new seat or something.
