This sound is the "RPMs too low" warning, the fix is to keep the revs higher. My car has made a similar sound since sometime in 2017. I've replaced the donuts as well with no luck and have long suspected that it is related to the air pump/emissions valves on the back of the motor, I just haven't had the gumption to mess with them since they are such a pain. NRW makes block off plates for the valves so maybe one day in the future I'll get those and install them. Until then, I'll just rev it higher. I try my best not to lug the motor in that rev range anyway. Once up to temp it doesn't go below 3k unless I'm stopped. If I hear that noise I know the revs are too low.
