I must say though that I'm concerned that you won't be able to (lab/kitchen) test them sufficiently well vs actual in use. e.g the S65 takes much less time than 1/2hr to warm up (except perhaps in very cold climates). What do you expect their safe lifetime to be?

I completely forgot about this saga after I installed and ran the Markforged Onyx ones for over a year! I ended up installing metal ones when I installed my NRW covers last October, but I should post some pictures of how uneventful the plastic ones looked after 6mo of daily driving them to/from work. No discernible degradation, a clean insoluble report from Blackstone, and they didn't crack when I removed them!
And yeah, I think I made enough noise in the community for the copycats to be produced in China, and the Slon covers to bring their price down to something reasonable haha.
