GRM tests showed that almost all of the super-200tw tires were significantly faster (0.7-1sec faster on a 1.5min lap) once worn to ~ 4/32nd's. Less tread squirm and better contact patch were their conclusions.
It'd be awesome to see Bridgestone/Yoko stop pretending they're making street tires and make an RE71RS semi-slick, same compound with a little RR style DOT tread line - call it a 100tw or whatever they want.
It's also interesting to hear about the new 2023 compound for the Nankang CR-S, their tests showed faster laps than the RE71RS, A052, etc. Phil's tire said they arrive in port Early-May. Might take a gamble on a set.
