Only possible downsides:
Front wheel fitment can be challenging depending on the 10.5 offset.
When you put the wheel down flat, the rim hits the floor as there is not enough tire to protect it. Not a problem for track wheels, just something to keep in mind.
That said, I'm running 18x10.5et25 +5mm spacer up front for clearance on 275/35/18 tires.
