I am not knowledgeable on this topic, but my understanding is that if the battery loses charge, it will pull more voltage from the alternator. Making the alternator work hard I guess is not ideal. I'll invite someone with more knowledge on this topic to enlighten us. |
Had the same or similar issue with my Antigravity battery. Car would pull up to 15v after start up only, and set off lights/messages in the idrive.
Replaced the voltage regulator, no change. Replace the alternator with a new one which also included a voltage regulator, no change. Reinstalled the OEM battery, and it never happened again.
