In most major cities it doesn't take long for a cop to hit 6 figures. If you don't want to wait to put in the years and rank up the quickest route is a masters in public administration and OT.

Teacher's in blue states / cities are also comfortably and secretly in the 6 figure club. The average teacher salary in the city of Boston is around $95k (that's a 50k-150k range). And that's not even the highest average in the state of Massachusetts. With years of experience, professional development, and leading/coaching sports and clubs I know teachers in their 20s making $150k for 9 months of work (hard work no less). With 80% of that coming back ot them for life come pension time.

You'll rarely ever see a teacher or cop in anything fancy though. Regardless of what they make. My uncle is a retired detective. He bought a brand new e36 M3 and drove a Ford Mustang 5.0 to the station day in and out.
