They do? I'd say squealing is the exception, not the rule. When I'm watching cars lapping at a DE, race, time attack, or whatever, I don't hear constant screeching in every braking zone from every car.
I think people just accept that "race cars make weird noise" but that doesn't have to be true.
Hawk DTC-70 and 60 have been nearly dead silent for me on track. They have a slight squeak at low speed when cold, but that's it. I keep them at the correct operating temps front and rear, FWIW.
