What I've used before is 3M trim paint. I got the tip from a BMW bodyshop specialist that refinished my steering wheel trim that had started to peel. She did it right there in front of me and blended it perfectly. I was shocked to see the results. Since then, I've done it several times for friends and family with similar results.
Do you have a link to that product? My door panel has some complete peeling to the plastic on the soft touch and I watched a video showing that it's impossible to remove because it's part of the whole door card. I contemplated just stripping the whole piece but have just left it for now.
