The problem with that explanation (let your engine warm up and if there is a problem it’s the PO’s fault) is that one owner carefully driven low mileage cars have failed. It really is a lottery. I agree the odds are with you if you want to take the risk, but it’s a $10-20k repair bill if you win the lottery.
