It has to be able to still be a tractable, stop-and-go traffic daily-capable engine for me to be interested. I don't have the DCT to cover up the engine's recalcitrance if it doesn't want to be a normal car engine when its' time to normal car things
I think that's where the 4.4 would come in to give bit more oomph and help it along where it might nto be happy with wider throttle openings at low rpm - that's where I drive half the time - below 3k - and I'd rather have the drivability than the bananas 7k-redline. Appreciate the continued input on how this is going and how the car behaves. Would love to haer your impressions on how your setup behaves in everyday situations like that.
And that video never, ever gets old.

off idle it behaves great. I manually shift the DCT in the E90 so it's not like it kicks down to mask behavior.
Daily driving it only makes me think it needs even larger cams, because the 292s are not large enough to detect a single driveability issue.
The engine pulls like hell whenever I go WOT. The snappy throttle response is shocking after getting used to the M3 CS.
When I go to work I usually drive under 3k rpm as well and the engine feels as wonderful as a regular S65, just more powerful.
I'm still convinced the best NA mod would be 292 cams
