So i had the transmission out and inspected. There was a broken bolt that was found. Not sure exactly where it was but the shop is strongly confident that this broken bolt inside the dct was causing the bang off a stop. Mounts were in good shape.

I'm glad i was able to find this post. I was the Tech that removed the DCT and Inspected the internal components and found the broken bolt. I've been doing a lot of digging into this issue and found the cause and affect. I will be removing the DCT out of my personal M3 and recording step by step on how to prevent this from happening. I believe that ALL the DCT transmission should be checked for this condition before the major bolt failure. |

Meanwhile, can you tell us where & why the bolt fails? Until then, I will continue to come to a complete stop & count to 3 when going from R to D & D to R. When parking the car my foot will stay on the brake while I pull the parking brake. I will say many prayers too.
