If the lap belt can't be snugged against you, it is not safe-- regardless of who sold it.
... and the Carera GT is hardly known for being a safe car.

Maybe the sides of the CGT seat are low enough that that placement still allows for a snugged lap belt for most drivers. But, those Recaro sides are high! I'm a big dude, and I couldn't safely use the factory 3 point when I had a Recaro Profi SPG XL installed in my car, running over the top of the seat.
