Garage List
... initial thoughts continued

Only have another 40 miles on it from my OP, but a few observations.

- Low & midrange power is very adequate over 2,500 rpm, even with the 5,500 limit
- LOVE the engine sound. It has a very mechanical "whine" at low speeds, and I forgot how good a V8 can sound (last one was '69 Camaro 350 in college). Exhaust is pretty subdued; I'd like maybe 15-20% more volume.
- The car feels so tight and put together. Every action seems effortless. No feeling of too much weight on the street.
- Came with wheel locks; not sure if OEM or dealer put them on.
- Recess in the cover over the battery looks like it was designed for the manual to reside in, but it's about 1/2" too short!
- Trunk is definitley larger than the E46.
- Steering feels great. Haven't played with the different modes too much. Steering wheel feels just like my E46 M3 (perfect).
- Shifter and clutch are very light and easy to use.
- EDC modes are distinguishable, but not dramatically different from one another. Even "Comfort" has plenty of control. I think that will be my DD setting, with "Sport" only a push of the M button away.
- Still gettting used to Comfort Access, but should be nice on a daily basis.
- iPhone pairing went fine. Haven't tried voice commands yet.
- Variable redline during warmup is much better than the E46 one. Moves gradually and seems related more to oil temp than water temp like the E46.
