Exactly. On 91 octane the stock ECU is pulling timing, even moreso as IATs rise.
The Meth will allow the ECU to actually hit timing targets, and, hit them consistently even in warmer weather. This is due to increased octane and its cooling affect, without any tuning changes. It would be akin to driving your car on a cold night.... imagine it running that good all the time.
I am very intrigued by a standalone meth kit (no tune) but not sure one exists for NA cars. The Vishnu seems to require their piggyback which I'm not sure how I feel about - the company seems sketchy. Are they even still around? Is there a standalone Meth kit that isn't boost-triggered that can work with these cars?
Or is E85 the way to go here? That wouldn't be convenient as there are almost no E85 stations in San Diego. |
There's plenty in San Diego, go to Pearson fuel website or the app. Probably about 20 throughout the county
