BMW started using dual mass flywheels 25 years ago. Dealerships are familiar with them. But I think you prefer to diagnose things yourself rather than seek the help of professionals like deansbimmer or a dealer or independent. If a person has some real world mechanical experience, the internet can be a helpful aid, but based on what I have read here, it appears you do not fall into that category.
