I don't quite know what exactly was changed for the 2010 and newer cars, but what I do know is there was a law suit filed back in November 18 of 2015 because a dealership denied replacing the bearings on a 2011 M3.
From my research online I don't think any year car for the S65 engine is absolutely safe from this potential issue. Some cars have racked up serious miles but have no issue, other cars are very low in mileage and have the issue. Although I must say in the interest of full disclosure that even BMW hasn't officially stated or admitted that it's a problem on their engines. But we all know that so many people can't be making this up.
Anyhoo the oil analysis is cheap and quick so again if in a month or two when I am ready if this car is still available for sale, I will pay for the analysis if we agree on a price. But I don't think anyone should buy a E92 M3 without the analysis done. If not GLWS!
