Interesting. I thought it was strange too, so I flushed the brake fluid with Castrol SRF. The old fluid was disgusting, but it did not make an appreciable difference in feel. The braking performance is good once I get on it, so I don't think that there are any issues mechanically. Maybe I'll just have to experiment a little. Thanks for your thoughts.
