Most will recommend painting the roof body color because removing the clear from bare carbon is very difficult. It is very easy to use a sander and go past the clear and into the weave which will ruin the weave's visual effect. Clever of you to use a razor to shave off the 'dead' clear. Well hopefully I did not miss lead anyone because I only used the razor blade for the edges and the four corner areas of the roof but mostly 90% from the center and out words easily peeled off with a thin hard plastic scraper a used from work also keep in mind I am an autobody technician so I was confidently able to do this project. But I feel that anyone can do this since no true bodywork is needed other than time and effort and patience to peel off the existing gelcoat
