The computer slips the clutches to rev match and find the right gear, I believe the supercharged cars slip too much during this process and it heats the clutches excessively. Non boosted cars, go ahead but I think it's the worst way to downshift. You should know what gear to drop down to, do it manually. Just my opinion.
