I attached a digital gauge via bluetooth OBD dongle and it reported the same as the analog needle, within 50 rpm or so. I agree it is likely in my head... or just that much more insidious!
why do you guess 231e, and how can I check it myself?
I do have a cable but have never setup INPA and the other tools.
I have also noticed that the transmission software has reverted back to pre-2011 behavior. No rev matches in D modes, no aggressive/predictive downshifts on high D modes, to include engine bogging in gear up hill.
