EDIT: Pics will disappear as soon as I close Google Photos. Will try to work this out if anyone is interested in seeing them. Sorry for the mess.
Hello Everyone,
Changed the oil last Wednesday; oil had 3,726 miles on it (usually changed every 3k miles).
I noticed two things: oil had what looks like metal particles and the oil filter housing has some wall scuffing. Scuffing is on vertical orientation, all pretty much identical and only at an isolated spot (pics below). I am assuming that the metal-like particles are from there, but can't be 100% sure. Oil is going to be sent for analysis; I should know more later.
The dry start noise did not happen this time. As I have stated before, this is not a regular thing. However, I primed the filter almost completely this time as opposed to just getting it soaked half way. Coincidence? Will get the answer to that in 6 months time when next oil change is due. The running ticking noise decided not to show up this time as well. It seems both these noises have their own personality and decide when to come or go.
Oil level indicator didn't like the oil change much; it shows the level short a bit. Will leave it as it is for the time being as engine has 9 liters in. Engine oil level sensor has been replaced 3 times under warranty. It may be time to replace it again.
Oil used was Castrol Edge 10W60.
