Hello,
I'm selling the original complete engine out of my 2009 BMW M3 that just turned 54K miles. Engine started making very faint fluttering noise revving up where I immediately parked the car to prevent possible further damage. Local shop and dealer expected a bad bearing and hoped it was caught early enough.
#5 rod bearing was well down to the copper but didn't spin (still keyed features on OEM bearings). Other bearings show wear with a few copper spots. I recently attempted to get installed VAC/ARP2000 bolts, but there was a bit too much scoring on the crank, where it initially ran quiet but gradually appeared again the fluttering sound from 1800RPM+. Idle is still silent.
Block is still in great shape with new spark plugs, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, and oil pan gasket.
I'll be going for an engine swap, as my local shops don't make financial sense for a rebuild.
Would make a great rebuild or stroker kit.
PM me with offers and further details / pics of the bearings and rod journals.
Thanks for your time!
