With this set up air intake surface area has been reduced - only an observation. I don't know what affect this has.

I have BMC filter and definitely the induction noise is a lot louder compared to OEM. Concur with Stu

I don't buy the crap that it has increased any power or the throttle response. That's largely due to the respective tune.
