the computer is telling him that because aftermarket injectors (Bosch I think) are bigger so it thinks there is less fuel flow than it really is
it could be recalibrated to show real consumption, which is maybe few percent lower than on a stock car with normal driving and significantly higher when you floor it (of course with much more fuel flow)
