Pictures from my car. I've seen a lot of photos of rod bearings over the past couple of weeks and these seem to be among the worst. It just doesn't seem like this should happen at 57k miles.
These are from bearings 1 and 2. The #1 bearing spun and got really hot, discoloring the cap. The #2 bearing has worn through the top layer into copper. I am in a really bad situation here because the cost to repair it is approximately 50-65% of the value of the car.
