Agreed with you that you will deal with the issue, same thing here but when engine blows without any warning...we saw that too on here, than it's too late !
Even with a bearing replacement with the low friction coating such as Clevite creates new questions , who says or is there any proof that those bearings are better ?
Strange thing is some are jumping around about the bearing fix and thinking that's it...the bearing fix , but actualy we saw nothing and maybe they are even worse !
Realy don't get this because I don't see my S65 as a lottery game !
This can also create complicated situations when engine blows with other bearings than BMW Oem , because if engine blows with other bearings than BMW Oem bearings..at that moment who's responsible ?

But let's hope for both of us that we are having a good S65 because there are also good S65's out there .

That's my point.
- You can complain about it over and over again, and hope for the best.
- You can sell the car
- You can replace the rod bearings with new OEM ones if you are that scared of your engine blowing up without a sign
- You can wait for the new rod bearings from Clevite

As you can see, there are plenty of options. I just know that I'm not waiting for BMW to help me. So far, I've switched to M1 0W40, do very regular oil changes, make sure the engine is warmed up properly, and always send my oil in to Blackstone so I can see the trend. Eventually, I'll do the rod bearings because I'm starting to get up there in mileage relative to the rest of the forum.

That IMO, is so much better than hoping for BMW to do something about it. I'd rather be proactive in all this than hope for the best. You can either enjoy this awesome car, or read too much into it on the forums.
